Sesame Seed Milk Recipe

Publicado por Osi Mizrahi en

Not only are sesame seeds packed with vitamins and nutrients, they have been known to have cholesterol-lowering effects, and aid in preventing high blood pressure.  Sesame seeds are also high in calcium and strengthen all of the tissues in the body, including reproductive and nerves. Where regular milk is acidic, sesame seed milk is an alkaline food that supports health.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 4 dates
  • Pinch of salt
  • Tablespoon of unrefined coconut oil

Instructions:

  • Pour water over the sesame seeds to cover and let soak for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  • Rinse and drain your seeds.
  • Put rinsed seeds in blender and fill the blender halfway with water.  Blend well.
  • Pour the seed mixture into a cheesecloth or fine mesh bag.  Squeeze all of the milk out of the bag and into a bowl.
  • Pour strained milk back into the blender and add dates, salt and unrefined coconut oil. Blend well.

This recipe should yield about 8 cups of sesame seed milk. It will last for approximately 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
